No matter how much you try it is very difficult to have an entirely green wedding, there is just too much going on. But what you can do is try and make some of the things that stand out and make a lasting impression on people as green as possible.

This can even include the wedding dress itself; this centre piece can be fairly eco friendly without losing any of its style or chic. One particular designer who is great at making eco friendly wedding dresses is Deborah Lindquist. She uses organic cotton, hemp, recycled materials and vintage silk.

Red Wedding Dress

In 1999, as the millennium beckoned the last decade of the century saw not only a change in wedding pattern styles, but also a fashion trend for adding more and more colour to the bride's wedding dress.
Wendy's red wedding dress is a statement of her modern approach. It illustrates her confidence to go against tradition at a time (1999), when coloured dresses were still only worn by a few western brides in UK. Despite this many other nationalities consider that the best colour to marry in is red. Brides in both India and China like to marry in red.
White wedding dresses have been worn in Britain since Queen Victoria a young virginal bride married in white. Until then and even after, many brides simply bought a quality dress in a neutral colour such as creamy beige so that they could wear the dress again and again. Others picked materials like silver lame which could enable a dress to be restyled into an evening gown. Often a woman would have two bodices made - one which was demure in cut for the wedding ceremony and one for future evening wear.
However in the fifty years post world War II as society became more affluent and modern fabrics brought affordable white gowns, brides mostly opted for a white wedding.
Now in the mid noughties decade, a coloured wedding dress is a very popular choice for many brides, with red wedding dresses being hot sellers.

Beautiful Colorful Fashion Wedding Dresses

Beautiful Colorful Fashion Wedding Dresses
The color is one of the hottest trends for wedding dresses! What started about a decade ago with the legendary blue belt dress Amsale has expanded and evolved into a wedding dress with colorful accents more. Is your style a little pink or red extravaganza of all, examine the ideas of the beautiful to wear a colorful wedding dress.

The current trend in wedding dresses is to infuse a little of color. Beading, sequins, sashes, and embroidery in black, red, blue, and purple are all popular choices for modern brides. Choosing a gown in ivory is different enough from white and off-white gowns, but still simple and classic looking. Ivory is a timeless color that may even look better on some brides than shades of white.

The collection of Pretty Colorful Wedding Gowns of Barbie Bridal is a delicious candy buffet of beautiful, colorful wedding dresses that would make Princess Bride swoon. Above, sweet distinctive pink and black layered dress sold macaroons. Here, light blue wedding dresses with white bows. If you prefer a more casual effect, light yellow flowers would be lovely with a blue wedding dress.

Modern Style of Wedding Dresses

If your style is conservative and understated and you want modest wedding dresses styles, then you have come to the right place. In this article we are going to discuss about modest wedding dresses styles and designs that you can choose for your wedding.
Everyone has different preferences about how they would like their wedding dress to be. For instance, bridal gowns with full length and delicate details such as  feathers, ruffles, crystals and sequins are very stunning and graceful. But I know many girls who would prefer something more understated and elegant. Modern wedding dresses that are not frumpy and matronly are very hard to find. If you go to a boutique for a wedding gown, you will find that most of the bridal gowns are strapless, backless or have a plunging neckline. Whatever modest wedding dresses that are there at the back of the shop are so dated that even your grandmother won’t be wearing them.
 Simple Modern Wedding Dresses
There is an ongoing trend of fitted and sexy expensive wedding dresses as well as corset wedding dresses, but if you are looking for modest wedding dresses, then there are a lot of styles that you can try. Just because you are planning to wear a modest wedding gown, it does not mean that you cannot look glamorous and beautiful. Great style and modesty can indeed go together.
Today, modern bridal gowns with lace sleeves are especially popular since they are noble and elegant which add just the right bit of style and also covers her bare shoulders. Lace spells old world charm and glamour and will look great on you. Boutiques and fashion houses usually have wedding dress designs with full sleeves, high collars and modest necklines that are suitable for the winter.
 Vintage Modern Wedding Dresses
If you are having trouble finding modern wedding dresses, then why not go for vintage style? Vintage modern wedding gown patterns can be found in many thrift stores or even online. When you find a pattern that you like, you can make the purchase and get all necessary fabrics, trimmings, ribbons and buttons. Ask a good seamstress to create a modest wedding dress, using the pattern and the material. Vintage wedding dress patterns like a ruffled collar, power shoulders, full length sleeves and even Grecian drapes all looks great for a modern wedding. There are many vintage wedding gowns with sleeves and high collars that work as well as modern wedding gowns. The best thing about having vintage style wedding dresses is that you can pass it on to your daughter as well.
 Cheap Modest Wedding Dresses
The best way to find beautiful modern wedding dresses is to plan months ahead of the wedding and look through as many wedding gown catalogs and bridal magazines. This will give you an idea of what designs of modest wedding dresses are in style. For plus sized brides, wearing plus size modest wedding dresses is a very good idea, since strapless modern wedding dresses don’t look good on them. Plus sized brides can also choose a strapless wedding dress and ask a seamstress to make a bolero jacket or short cap sleeves that can be attached to the wedding gown. This will help you to convert a strapless wedding dress into a modest one.
These were some ideas on modest wedding dresses designs and styles. If you are planning to wear a modest weeding dress for your big day, then you should find the wedding dress as soon as possible. With the right modest wedding dress, you will look like a fairy princess on your wedding day.

Japanese wedding dress showcase blog (shameless plug!)

Ever since I posted about Luce boutique’s creations last year, I’ve been getting a lot of visits from people looking for modern Japanese bridal gowns so I put up a separate blog devoted to showcasing the creativity of Japan’s bridal fashion designers.
While they still hold elaborate traditional Shinto wedding ceremonies, Christian (or Western-style) weddings are gaining in popularity in Japan these days. I learned this firsthand when I was planning for my own wedding in 2003. Back then I received several 1-inch thick wedding magazines from my dad in Japan and so, pardon the ignorance but I was surprised to see that the Japanese didn’t just wear traditional kimonos to their weddings anymore. Their modern wedding dress designs are in fact chic, creative, and very wearable and it would be such a shame if they remain hidden from the non-Japanese speaking crowd. For this reason I decided to unearth these hidden gems and showcase them to the rest of the world.
Here’s a sampling of what you can expect to find on the blog:
